- Many people arrive. Spend the day exploring the mountains.
- 6:30 p.m Rehearsal Dinner at Vogel State Park group shelter. **This is a new, later time to accommodate those arriving late!
Friday, October 7
- Spend the morning exploring the mountains with one of these great activities.
- 5:00 p.m. The Wedding Ceremony! At the Vogel Pavilion, near the group shelter. Could be chilly, so a jacket/ sweater is a great idea.
- 5:30 p.m. Head over to the Group Shelter for drinks and games.
- 6:00 p.m. Dinner -- enough southern comfort food and delicious drinks to send everyone home happy!
- 7:00 p.m. Dancing and general revelry. Here's the link to the awesome band's website. In lieu of the traditional toasts and dances, we'd like to invite our talented or just talkative friends to take a turn at the mic. No pressure -- but if you've got a song, dance, skit, story, guitar solo, poem or toast, it would add to the night and make the event wonderfully meaningful.
- 9:00 p.m. Events wind down. Drive safe!
Saturday, October 8
Saturday's schedule is still flexible, so stay tuned for changes. We'd also love to hear your feedback if you have ideas for how this day could be most enjoyably spent.
- 10:00 a.m. Hike the four mile round-trip trail to Blood Mountain. If you plan to come, please let us know. This is a strenuous but beautiful hike to a place that means a great deal to both John and Jamie. If enough people are interested, we can organize two hikes: this one and a more low-key option.
- 2:00 p.m. Caravan to Ellijay for scenic drive/ apple cider tasting tour. Georgia may be most famous for its peaches, but the North Georgia apples are really where it's at. Join in this Hansen family tradition of traveling to the various apple orchards to find the most delicious cider! Meet at main Vogel parking lot and caravan from there. Trip will take 3-4 hours.
